Start The Revolution Highly Recommends Genuine Freedom - The New Book From Matt Engelman
The moment that I decide I am no longer prepared to write about the raping, pillaging energy companies anymore I get an immediate recall to duty!

Typical!

It is almost as if the raping, pillaging energy companies were waiting for my "retirement" before getting caught, isn't it?!

Nevertheless, caught they are and it seems that they have got some serious explaining to do!

You can almost smell the victory, the success, the "oh bugger he was right again" of it all can't you?!

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, silent masses that pay your energy bills whilst ignoring that idiot at Start The Revolution who has been constantly urging you all to do something about the ridiculous rises you have been forced to pay, I was right all along...

How many times does this have to happen before you stop just reading this stuff and actually start acting upon it?

So, this is how it worked...

The energy companies got hit with a price hike last year which, of course, they passed on to their customer without so much as an apology after all the years they have spent making hundreds of millions of pounds out of you for gas that your taxes found and your taxes started the process of removing from the North Sea only for your government to give it away to a bunch of rich bastards so that they could work on getting richer.

The price rises went almost unnoticed by a docile and sleepy public and so the rich folk over at the energy companies thought "Hello...They didn't say a word...25% rises and not a bloody word...This gives me an idea Frank!"

The next thing you know there is another price hike followed by the same deafening silence...Then another...Then another...

Now, to give you some perspective, when you take into account the fact that these rises are going up at around the 20% mark for gas and the 10% mark for electricity each time, then you are looking at a compound effect. Each time they add 20% to the price of gas they are actually adding 24% if you include the last 20% hike. This means that the average households bills have risen by over 50% and some by as much as 100% in less than a year!

So what was I right about...Go on, you are dying to know aren't you?

THE ENERGY COMPANIES HAVE BEEN MAKING HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF POUNDS REGARDLESS OF THE ONE SINGLE PRICE HIKE THAT THEY ACTUALLY FACED BECAUSE THEY PASSED THOSE EXTRA COSTS ON TO YOU...THEY HAVE ALSO BEEN LYING ABOUT THE NEED FOR PRICE HIKES AS THEY ARE ACTUALLY PAYING LOWER PRICES NOW THAN THEY WERE 6 MONTHS AGO.

In fact, the winter price rises were exactly that - WINTER PRICE RISES. They did not continue through the spring, summer and will not be reintroduced in the autumn...

Which means that you have been mugged, plain and simple.

The rich bastards at Rape You Energy Co. have been putting up the price of energy without any justification whatsoever other than the massive profits that they can get away with making whilst your quiet, mouse-like little voice does not get so much as a moment of exercise. You did not even ask the question, did you?

Why would winter price rises still be going on in the summer?

Would you like to know my next prediction?

Sitting comfortably?

I predict that, were any of you bothered enough to spend some time and effort forcing courts to investigate the government and the raping, pillaging energy companies you would find that the recent power losses in the City of London and elsewhere and the threats of brown-outs due to insufficient energy production capability were just a ruse to keep the price artificially high so as to ensure your dumbstruck complicity in all this.

Sounds exactly like the scam that Enron pulled in the US...

You know why?

Because it is EXACTLY the same scam that Enron pulled in the US...

Do you feel a little foolish now that you have given a few rich bastards all of your money and they did not even have to knock on your door and sell you magic beans?

Good!

Do you feel angry that the energy companies found it so easy to pull the wool over your eyes?

Good!

Do you feel betrayed by your government who must surely have known what was happening as they must surely be aware of the price that the raping, pillaging energy companies were paying their friends in Russia?

Good!

Now take those feelings of foolishness, anger and betrayal and return them tenfold upon all who chose to take your money and not even thank you for letting them.

The government are supposed to look after us even if a raping, pillaging energy company can bleat on about their shareholders...

We are the government's shareholders...

Time to take our dividends.

Time to get rid of the bloody lot of them and start again.

And in the meantime, cancel your Direct Debit, set up a standing order for half the normal monthly amount and tell the raping, pillaging energy companies to take you to court...

That way they will have to pay for you to go to court and tell a judge EXACTLY what they have been doing to you for the last year and, if we can get enough people to do it, they aren't going to take everybody to court anyway, are they?

WAKE UP BRITAIN...PLEASE!

Britain's top power companies are heading for a major row after it emerged that the prices they are paying for winter energy are beginning to tumble just days after households were hit with their 13th price rise this year.

Consumer groups and MPs are set to call for an inquiry into the power industry whose series of price rises have seen average household bills double to an unprecedented £1,000 a year.

Recent falls in the price of gas and electricity sold to power companies for the winter months show the cost has dropped by almost a quarter in recent weeks.

That compares with the latest price rise forced through by npower, one of the leading suppliers of residential power, which only last week said that from 1 October it will be putting gas prices up by more than 17 per cent and electricity prices by 10 per cent, its third price rise in just nine months.

Its five major power rivals, led by British Gas, have all forced through two rises each this year putting household bills at around double where they were in 2003.

In what is hoped will be good news for consumers, a triple whammy of factors should start to force down wholesale power prices, though regulator Ofgem today warned that residential price movements tend to lag behind wholesale price changes by about nine months.

The price of gas, which also fuels many of the country's newest electricity generating power stations, has been squeezed up this year over fears that the UK was beginning to run short because of dwindling North Sea supplies.

However, that squeeze on supplies should begin to ease as key, long-awaited continental gas pipelines from Norway and the Netherlands are set to open this winter.

City analysts are also predicting a downward pressure on prices from a fall in UK demand as households switch off their lights or turn down the central heating as they wrestle with soaring bills.

Thirdly, meteorologists are predicting a mild winter with prevailing westerlies as opposed to the gales from Siberia that battered the country last year.

However, power companies are unlikely to avoid accusations of profiteering.

Drax, the country's single largest power station, today reported profits of £317 million for the first half of this year, 25 times higher than in the previous year, as it sold electricity at prices 50 per cent more expensive than a year ago.

The average wholesale price of gas during last winter was about 60p a therm though acute fears of shortage pushed up daily prices which hit a record 256p on one occasion last month.

Prices for this winter were being "forward sold" at 88p a therm in May, which pushed the power suppliers to force up their residential prices. That price has now come back to 66p a therm.
